Area Development

The Ministry of Commerce launched the ASIDE (Assistance to States for Developing Export Infrastructure and Allied Activities) programme with a primary objective of developing infrastructure for export through grants-in-aid to be provided by the Government of India

The salient features of ASIDE Scheme include:

  • Involvement of the State Governments in the development of infrastructure for export promotion
  • Merger of four earlier existing schemes into this scheme
  • The Scheme has been implemented since 2001-02 and the projects under state components and central components are to be implemented after they are considered and approved by the competent authority

Under this scheme, IL&FS has been mandated to develop export-oriented infrastructure in select states in India. IL&FS also offers advisory services for development of infrastructure policy and infrastructure projects identification at the state level. Further, IL&FS, through our group company - IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation - has so far instituted and implemented four funds for development. These include the India Leverage Fund, India Project Development Fund and Access to Debt Fund

Our other projects in the area of industrial infrastructure include:

  • Development of Industrial Parks
  • Special Economic Zones
  • Industry-related Infrastructure such as Water Supply, Wastewater Treatment and Hazardous Waste Management
