Tirupur Water Supply and Sewerage Project

New Tirupur Area Development Corporation Limited (NTADCL) has been established by Government of Tamil Nadu, IL&FS and Tirupur Exporters Association to implement the first water sector related project under the public-private partnership framework in the country. It is the first and largest water supply project to be financed commercially on a limited recourse basis

Under the project, facilities have been constructed to extract, treat and supply 250 million litres of water per day (MLD) from the river Cauvery. Water is supplied to the dyeing and bleaching industries, domestic consumers of Tirupur Municipality, fifteen village panchayats and three town panchayats with a total population of 8,00,000. In addition, water supply will be provided to five wayside Panchayat unions covering about 700 villages with a population of about 10,00,000

The project also includes construction of a sewerage system for Tirupur Municipality and onsite sanitation facilities for slums within Tirupur Municipality (TM)

The project was completed to time, cost and standards. The company has commissioned supplying water to its customers successfully
