Construction & Demolition Waste Management

With rapid urbanization the quantum of construction & demolition waste (C&D Waste) is constantly increasing. While it is estimated that the construction industry in India generates about 10-12 million tons of Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste annually, efforts to manage and utilize this waste is very little. This has lead to Private contractors utilising unscientific dumping methods there-by putting severe pressure on scarce urban land as well as reducing life spans of landfills

IL&FS Environment Infrastructure Services Limited (IEISL) has implemented a pioneering initiative of setting up a 500 TPD capacity processing plant in Delhi on Public Private Partnership model, to manage construction & demolition

During Common Wealth Games 2010, IEISL collected and transported approximately 2, 00,000 tons of C&D waste from the streets of Delhi
