Mega Food Parks Scheme

Aimed primarily at providing adequate infrastructure facilities for the food processing industry along the value chain from farm to market, The Mega Food Parks would bring together farmers, retailers and processors and link agricultural production to market in order to maximise value addition, minimise wastage and improve farmers' income

Under the Mega Food Parks Scheme, IL&FS Clusters has been engaged as the Project Management Agency with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, since the last 3 years, for implementation of 10 mega food park projects under 11th Five Year Plan. Out of these, 8 Mega Food Parks have been approved and are under implementation. These projects together involve an aggregate investment of around Rs. 960 crores

IL&FS Clusters as Project Management Agency (PMA) is responsible for management, capacity building, coordination and monitoring support. The major role as PMA is:

  • To assist MOFPI in inviting Expression of Interest for projects under the scheme
  • To assist MOFPI in evaluation/appraisal of techno-feasibility reports and Detailed Project Reports
  • To assist SPVs, the implementing agencies in financial closure of projects
  • To assist MOFPI in release of grant under the scheme
  • To monitor and report progress of projects under scheme to MOFPI

The geographical presences of the Food Parks are in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Assam, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka & Punjab
