Krishnapatnam Thermal Power Project

IL&FS in association with Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (“APGENCO”) a power generation utility of Government of Andhra Pradesh is developing a coast based 2 x 800 MW Coal fired Krishnapatnam Thermal Power Project with supercritical units at Nellaturu Village, district Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. The Project has been domiciled in Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company Ltd (“APPDCL”), a Special Purpose Company constituted under the Company’s Act 1956 with equal holding by APGENCO and IL&FS. IL&FS Energy Development Company Limited (IEDCL), has been appointed as the Transaction Advisor by APPDCL for assisting it in development of the generation plant and has made significant progress in finalisation of project contours and obtention of project clearances/approvals including the domestic coal linkage for the project. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.85000 million

The EPC contract for the main plant was awarded in July 2008 and for BoP in 2009. Both the units are likely to be commissioned in 2012-2013
