Karimnagar Thermal Power Project

IL&FS in association with Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO) a power generation utility of Government of Andhra Pradesh, is developing a 2100 MW Natural Gas based Combined Cycle Themal Power Project at Nedunuru Village in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh. The project has been domiciled in Andhra Pradesh Power Development Co. Ltd (APPDCL) a Special Purpose Company with equal holding by APGENCO and IL&FS. IL&FS Energy Development Company Limited (IEDCL), has been appointed as the Transmission Advisor by APPDCL for assisting in development of the generation plant and has made significant progress in finalisation of project contours and obtention of project clearances/approvals

Government of Andhra Pradesh has accorded in-principle approval in February 2010 to take up Karimnagar Gas Power Station using RLNG as fuel for the first module of 700 MW. The estimated cost of the first phase is about Rs. 3340 crores
