IL&FS Maritime (IMICL) is developing an Integrated Maritime Complex at Nana Layja in Kutch, Gujarat. The complex comprises a multi-product SEZ / FTWZ focusing on Energy and Marine sectors, a ship-repair and shipbuilding facility, and captive jetties for the SEZ including an LNG terminal.

Innovations and Impact

  1. This will be one of the first maritime clusters in the state of Gujarat. The project will create backward and forward linkages of internal and related components of the maritime sector.
  2. A captive port facility caters to the SEZ via an 8 km dedicated utility corridor.
  3. It will attract large industrial investment and create significant direct and indirect employment, economically benefitting the Kutch region and the state.

May 2014 In-principle approval for SEZ/FTWZ; statutory clearances underway
